Solana Meme Coins Fartcoin and SPX6900 Skyrocket, Massively Outgaining Dogecoin

Dogecoin is gradually rebounding after dipping to a 2025 low earlier this week—but leading meme coins on Solana are seeing massively larger gains, with some high-cap coins rising by as much as 30% over the last day.

DOGE is up about 4% over the last day, per data from CoinGecko, sitting at a price of nearly $0.337 as of this writing. But Dogecoin is still down 5% over the last week as it gradually regains after dipping to a price under $0.31 on Monday.

So far in 2025, Dogecoin peaked at a price above $0.43 on Friday, January 17, falling sharply as soon as President Donald Trump launched his own Solana meme coin that night—just three days ahead of inauguration day. Dogecoin open interest has also plummeted in recent days as the coin lost considerable momentum.

But in the Solana meme coin space, some of the leading coins are booming right now.

Fartcoin (FARTCOIN), which fell out of the top 100 coins by market cap earlier this week, has reentered the rankings with a 38% spike over the past day to a current price of $1.27—though it’s still down 15% in the last week due to its previous plunge.

The flatulence-themed token had fallen in part due to a sizable sale of tokens last week by Andy Ayrey, the creator of the popular Truth Terminal AI bot that originally came up with the concept for the token. Even with today’s rise, Fartcoin remains down 50% from its all-time high price mark set just 11 days ago.

Why is Fartcoin rebounding so rapidly? That’s unclear, but meme coins are wildly volatile and trade on vibes. Some of it may be due to improving sentiment across the crypto market. It could also be tied to a viral news story about a UK woman sentenced to jail for a “cyber-farting” scheme. Anything is possible.

Another surging Solana token with a similar vibe is Buttholecoin (BUTTHOLE), which sits well outside the top 100 with a market cap of about $61 million, but it’s spiked by 53% over the last 24 hours.

Back in the top 100 coins, Solana meme coin SPX6900 is up by 27% over the last 24 hours, and now is about even over the last week. Even with the jump, SPX6900 is down 22% from its recent all-time peak.

And Trump’s official Solana coin, meanwhile, has climbed by just 2% over the past day to about $27.50.
