Polymarket has paid out on its ‘Will Threadguy interview Trump before October?’ bet after the crypto influencer shouted one question at the former president during a dinner party.
The bet was created on August 27, the same day Threadguy spent $25,000 on Trump card NFTs in an effort to gain access to Trump’s gala dinner.
However, the NFTs only offered a chance for a place at the dinner, a fact that became apparent to Threadguy during an X space. “I’m gonna throw up,” he later posted.
However, he evidently managed to secure a place and was filmed ambushing Trump and bellowing a single question.
“Are there going to be any future Trump card drops?” Threadguy shouted. The former President replied “What?” Threadguy asked again and this time Trump simply said he doesn’t know.
Trump appeared to be about to expand on his question until Threadguy cut him off, saying, “I’m one of the top holders, I love them.” Trump replied, “Thank you” and the pair shook hands.
This confused 50-word exchange was enough to constitute an interview according to Polymarket’s parameters. Indeed, all Threadguy had to do was record himself asking Trump one in-person question by 11:59 PM ET on September 30, 2024.
The bet was resolved to ‘yes’ this morning and has not been disputed.
